Raising the profile of school board elections
With just over one week left in the school trustee election campaign, Red Deer Public Schools continues to provide information to ensure that the community is informed about the choices available to them as electors.
"A motto for Red Deer Public Schools is 'Your Children, Our Students, Everyone's Future!," commented Bruce Buruma, Corporate Secretary to the Board. "Public school education shapes the future of our community. We all benefit from and depend on public education, it shapes the future of our community. Whether or not you have children in the school system, decisions about our schools impact the entire community."
The District has established an election website that provides profiles of each of the candidates for school board trustees. The site also has a series of questions and answers that trustee's have been invited to respond to. Go to www.rdpsd.ab.ca/Election.php
MEET THE CANDIDATES: The public will have an opportunity to see candidates at a Meet & Greet opportunity on Tuesday, October 10 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Don Campbell Elementary School located at 99 Irving Crescent.. Trustee Candidates will be in attendance and there will be a short program for them to introduce themselves and share their priorities.
"Our goal is to ensure that people are informed about school board trustee elections and the important decisions they will be making," said Buruma.
