Continuity in leadership: Red Deer Public School Board
The Board of Trustees for Red Deer Public Schools has chosen continuity in leadership by re-electing Bev Manning as Board Chair and Cathy Peacocke as Vice Chair, positions both have held for the last 4 years.
The meeting also saw the swearing in of all trustees including 2 new members to the Board, Nicole Buchanan and Laurette Woodward. They join returning trustees Bill Christie, Diane Macaulay, Bev Manning, Cathy Peacocke and Bill Stuebing.
The Organizational Meeting saw regular meetings of the Board of Trustees continuing on the second Wednesday of the month at 1:00 PM. Trustees also selected committee and school liaison assignments.
At the first meeting of the new term, trustees reviewed the District's Annual Education Results Report highlighting successes and achievements in the 2016/2017 school year, establishing a focus for upcoming community engagement sessions as well as opportunities to raise Trustee awareness across the community.
Red Deer Public Schools provides quality education to over 10,700 students living within the City of Red Deer. The district is governed by Board of Trustees that includes 7 locally elected trustees.
