Student enrolment tops 11,100 in Red Deer Public
The enrolment numbers are in for Red Deer Public Schools and 11,121 students are registered in the District for the 2018/2019 school year - up 247 students from last year.
The enrolment numbers are taken as of Sept. 30, a date that is significant as it’s the official count the province bases its funding from for the 2018/2019 school year.
“The increase in enrolment in Red Deer Public is welcomed news. This is a positive sign of our economy and it’s encouraging to see new families moving into Red Deer,” said Stu Henry, Superintendent of Schools.
“Public education continues to be the choice of education for many, as evident in the increase in enrolment numbers,” said Bev Manning, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “We welcome all at Red Deer Public Schools and we pride ourselves on providing our students with the best educational opportunities, with a focus on our District priorities including Literacy and Numeracy, Equity and Student Success and Completion.”
