Hunting Hills Grad Walk

The Inspiration of Graduation

By: Lexi Wright

Hundreds of graduating students from Hunting Hills High School paraded down the street on May 18th in their caps and gowns to Mattie McCullough Elementary School, in hopes of inspiring the younger students to graduate.

Graduation is not only a great achievement, but a pivotal moment in the life of a young-adult.

Principal of Mattie McCullough says the elementary students were ecstatic to be a part of the celebration.

“Graduation isn’t something that begins in high school, it begins right from the very start of kindergarten. It’s great that our students can get a glimpse of the importance of graduation”.

This is the first time Hunting Hills has performed a grad walk, and it likely will not be the last.

Students and staff were all smiles as hundreds of elementary students lined the halls of Mattic McCullough, giving high fives and cheers of joy to the passing graduates.

Cody Frizzle, graduating student from Hunting Hills High School says the grad walk is a great idea.

“High school is important and it’s not just about learning. It’s setting you up for the future and it’s great that we can show the younger kids that the future doesn’t have to be scary; graduation doesn’t have to be scary”.
