Admission Requirements

Summer School Students can be:

-Current Red Deer Public student (students under 19 years as of September 1, 2023)

-Non Red Deer Public student- Guest student (students under 19 years as of September 1, 2023) 

-Adult student (student 20 years or older as of September 1, 2023) 

-International Students (student under 19 years as of September 1, 2023) 

***Daily attendance IS Mandatory for all  in person Sports Performance (ATHLETE) and Foods courses. Online students will be expected to be online/check in daily.

***All course final exams will be written in person at the Pines Alternative School. 

***Students completing Grade 9 in June of 2024 are eligible***

**Legal Identification must be provided at the time of online registration; Canadian birth certificate, Canadian passport, or Canadian Resident card**

*Prerequisite courses must be completed and a passing grade prior to starting summer school.  Students registered without the required prerequisites will be withdrawn from the course. 

Students must attend "Virtual" or be "in attendance (in person)" ALL days for summer school classes.

**This is MANDATORY- Students must meet teacher/course expectations and all daily assignment deadlines.  Students are expected to work on each course up to 5 to 6 hours per day.

Daily attendance is Mandatory for all courses, whether it is in person or online. 

***NO Refund will be given if registration is completed and the student/parent changes their plans.**

***NO Refund will be given if the course is not successfully completed.**
