Third annual Valentine’s Day event to help support Fairview Elementary

Posted on

A sweet event just in time for Valentine’s Day is set to take place for Fairview Elementary School.

The event, in its third year, takes place on February 15 at Festival Hall in Red Deer. It will include a dinner, fun casino, silent auction as well as dance and entertainment by 80s band Prairie Dogz. There will also be live work done throughout the evening by artist Susan Woolgar. Door prizes and silent auction items will also be available throughout the evening. Tickets are $50 a person and the event is open to the community.

“We are excited to welcome the community for this exciting fundraising event,” said Teresa Tataryn, Principal of Fairview Elementary School. “The last two years have been a huge success and we loved the opportunity to bring the community together. We hope to do the same this year.”

All the proceeds go towards enhancements to the school’s resourcing.

“Together with community partners, resources and grant funding we will realize the vision for an environment where warmth, belonging, safety, community and culture draw a child into readiness for learning,” said Teresa. “The opportunities that are provided help to give students equitable experiences that are foundational to learning, growth and future success. Belonging, mastery, independence and generosity are the keys in this ongoing project that build resilience from hardship - we embrace student needs, inspire learning and nurture hope.”

She encourages the community to purchase tickets for the upcoming event.

“It’s going to be a really fun evening and it will support a really great cause,” said Teresa. “Each ticket purchased helps impact the lives of kids.”
