Academy of Dance

The Academy of Dance is the first program offered in Red Deer Public's new Academy of Arts.

This program is for current dancers in Grades 6-8 who want to take their technique and performance to the next level. The Academy of Dance will support dancers of all abilities to enhance their current practice. 

The vision of the Academy of Dance is to enhance arts opportunities already offered within Red Deer Public while allowing students to more fully explore an area of passion during their school day.

The Academy of Dance will be housed out of Westpark Middle School and students will train at facilities at Red Deer Polytechnic. Like with our other Academy programs, students will experience a double block of dance, every second day for the whole year which will count as their Phys. Ed.

Students will have the opportunity to experience a variety of dance styles including Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Contemporary/Lyrical.

Costs

• $1500 a year, Middle School only
